Amateur Ice Hockey 

Connor Clifton played prep hockey at Christian Brothers Academy in the Lincroft section of Middletown Township in New Jersey.

He was part of the U.S. National Development Team Program, winning silver in the 2013 IIHF World Under-18 Championship. He was also drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the fifth round, 133rd overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.


Connor Clifton kick-started his freshman season at Quinnipiac University (Bobcats) in the 2013–14 season and was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team during all four seasons.


Professional Ice Hockey 

Boston Bruins

Connor Clifton signed with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL), the affiliate of the Boston Bruins. 

Clifton later signed a two-year entry-level NHL contract with the Boston Bruins on May 3, 2018. 


However, he kick-started the new season (2018–19 season) in the Amer Hockey League side Providence before making his NHL debut on November 16, 2018, against the Dallas Stars following his recall by the team.


Connor Clifton scored some important goals in key games for the Bruins as they advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals. He signed a three-year, $3 million contract extension on July 1, 2019.


Clifton started the 2019–20 season with the Boston Bruins and was a regular throughout the season and qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs.


Buffalo Sabres – National Hockey League (NHL)

Clifton left the Boston Bruins as a free agent and went on to sign a three-year, $9.99 million contract with the Buffalo Sabres on July 1, 2023.
