Stephen Michael Ross is an American real estate developer, philanthropist, and sports team owner known for his position as the majority and principal owner of the Miami Dolphins and the Hard Rock Stadium. He is also a key figure in real estate development.

Stephen Ross initially bought 50% of the Miami Dolphins, the Dolphin Stadium (now Hard Rock), and surrounding land from then-owner Wayne Huizenga for $550 million in February 2008. He increased his stake by purchasing an additional 45% of the team from Huizenga. On January 20, 2009.

The Miami Dolphins announced a strategic investment by Ares Management funds (Ares) and Brooklyn Nets owners Joe Tsai and Oliver Weisberg. 

According to the Miami Dolphins' official website, Ares will acquire a 10% stake, while Tsai and Weisberg together will hold a 3% interest.
